Subproject¶

A subproject structures a project into coherent sections. It can contain activities and further subprojects.

Important Properties¶

• name and structure position

• start and finish

• contained activities

• possible fixed dates

• resource or machine requirements inherited from the contained activities

Usage¶

Subprojects keep large project plans readable. They are suitable for phases, trades, sites, lots, departments, or deliverables.

Typical Functions¶

• move activities into a subproject

• insert a subproject from a file or server template

• use start and finish dates from contained activities

• expand or collapse the subproject in Gantt chart or network diagram
