Reload a Project

Reloading refreshes project data after external changes or before portfolio review.

Use reload in multi-user or server-based workflows when other users may have changed project or portfolio data.

Workflow

  1. Save local changes.

  2. Use the reload command for the current project or portfolio context.

  3. Confirm server connection and permissions if Integration Server is used.

  4. Check project information and resource references after reload.

  5. Repeat capacity or target/actual checks if changed data affects results.

Reload commands

Use the reload command for the current project or portfolio context. For a portfolio, use File > Reload Project > Portfolio.

The Reload icon can also be used from the Quick Access Toolbar.

If the icon is not visible, add Reload from Customize Quick Access Toolbar.

After reload

Check whether the displayed plan is the expected version. In server-based workflows, also check permissions, resource-pool references, and portfolio membership before making new planning decisions.

Check the result

  • The displayed plan is the expected version.

  • No local edits were lost unintentionally.

  • Portfolio and resource-pool references are valid.
